Spice Brasserie @ Park Royal Hotel

Went for a food tasting sessions over at Spice Brasserie @Park Royal hotel with fellow Nuffnang bloggers!

We went for their Tuesday special Thai buffet! It's available for both lunch and dinner on Tuesday only! The promotion is till end of May and they will then change their menu to something different!

For the current promotion, they are having Thai buffet on Tuesdays, Japanese buffet on Thursdays, Barbecue buffet on Friday's dinner, Saturdays and Sunday's lunch. Other days is standard international buffet. XD

Going to start bombing you guys with food photos. I won't be stating the name of the dishes as you might not find the same dish as they changes their food menu regularly so that customers will not be eating the same food over and over again!

Even though it's Thai buffet, there are quite a variety of international food items available too! There's a whole side dedicated to the Thai food while the other side is the international food items. Same for the desserts! XD
This is a very good mixture, as customers get to try different food items in one buffet! XD

I must say the Thai food is really nice. The taste for some are very unique and I love the spiciness of some of the food items. The green curry that they served is really fragrant and yummy! It's really worth the try if you want to try Thai food. For a reasonable price, you can to try out a wide variety of Thai food! And Thai desserts too!

Chef Jeeranan, she's the chef that's in charge of the Thai food and all the Thai food are done by her! I must say I really do like her cooking!

She was actually telling us about the flower shaped dumpling which we all are interested in as it's really pretty and taste good! The filling is savory while the skin has a sweet after taste. Oh and it's really chewy, like eating a mochi!

I'm satisfied with all the yummy food. I must say that the food that Spice Brasserie offers is really value for money!

New Toy: Tamagotchi Tama-Go

I got myself a Tamagotchi, Tama-Go!!

I am sure a lot of you once own a Tamagotchi years back.

I myself never really own an authentic Tamagotchi before but I had the dinosaurs one, the 'chiong' tamagotchi which is actually a pet chick. Oh, I also owned a real Digimon! But never the tamagotchi because it was really expensive at that time. My mum only bought me the cheapest. >.< But better then nothing la! Haha~ Though somehow I wished I still kept those with me but it's all gone already.

So, after reading up about the Tama-Go online, I decided to get it! Simply because there's like quite a lot of things to do! Games, shops and marrying your pet etc. Plus they have the figurine thing where you attached it to the console and unlock new games and items. Quite cool huh?

My pet is now a 4 years old Violetchi, a girl! They grew a year each day so actually is 4 days old la. Haha.
Another cool thing is that they have rooms! Look at the image above, that's my pet when still a baby in it's living room!

Another thing is that you know how irritating when we have to clear up their shit when they poo? Now, we can potty train the pets! So that they will go to the toilet themselves!

It's really cute, and something to distract me from my phone which I'm told that I'm always on. :P

One Man Photoshoot

Just realized that I have not blog about this set of photos before! I only managed to edit a few before my com crashed. >< But I just use photoscape to do some minor editing since I wanted to share. It's the same set of photos as my current Blog Banner and Display Pics at various social sites.

All photos are taken with my trusty Olympus EP2 with a tripod. Shots are either taken with self timer or one hand on shutter while posing. Which is why I named this post a One Man Photoshoot. :P

These are all unedited raw self timer shots. Plus I did the shoot where the lighting ain't really good, hence the photos are quite grainy.

Now on to most of the 1 hand on shutter shots, if you see me using both my hands in the shot means it's self timer. :P Those with black border with the exception on the one I use for my blog banner are edited using photoscape. The rest, photoshop.

Outfit of the day~ Top from F21, forget to take the back, it's open with a bow design. Shorts from random place and tights from ASOS.

Signed up for Japanese Class and it was my first lesson today~

Class was fun and interactive~ The Sensei was very nice and fun too! XD

Glad that I went to Ikoma for the lessons, I really like how the lessons are being carried out. Am looking forward to my next class~ XD

After my lessons, I went to Bugis for the Flea held at Bugis Essensuals where the sponsored bloggers are selling their loots there. Went there with Sortie cause I know she would love to see Yutaki in person! LOL. And also to tempt her to spend money. :P Ended up I got a jacket and a tee-shirt too. :P

Took instaxs with Yutaki, Eric and Miyake!! XD She's so pretty in real life, I mean not the first time I saw her in real life but I can't help but look at her more then I look at the the guys. LOL.

Give Blood

Went to the BloodBank @ HSA on CNY's eve to donate blood!

From registration, screening, to the actual donation plus waiting time is roughly about an hour or less. The actual process of the donation takes only about 15 minutes. It does not hurt at all, as they will apply anesthetic before poking the big needle with the tube into your vein.

This little droplet of blood is dress to the CNY theme! It's actually a stress ball to help ease the flow of blood so that the process will be quicker.

This is only my 2nd time donating blood, but the little nameplates up there are regular blood donors! Kudos to them for taking time off to donate blood regularly. I think it's something we should do if we have the time as a pint of blood can save up to 3 lives!

I used to love collecting Happy Meal Toys from McDonald but have since grew out of the phase as the toys are getting too childish for my age.

However, Mcd came out with a series of collectibles that are too cute to be miss! And they are not the happy meal toys, you can just go and buy the toys~ XD

First up is the McHappy Bears!! XD

Don't they kind of remind you of bearbricks? LOL.

My fav got to be Hamburgler, but in their original form, I love Birdie the most!

They reminded me of the times where I go crazy collecting each and every series of McDonald characters toys.

And here's the Miniature series! You can either buy the whole set at $25 where it comes in a box or just buy it at $2.50 each which amount up to only $15. So the box actually cost $10 la. ><

Of course, I did not get the box, or rather my mum did not. I did not know about the Miniature series till my mum bought it back! I only ask her to help me buy the McHappy Bears! :P

I think Fish Burger, McCafe coffee and Apple Pie look the most realistic.

Fries anyone? No trans fat! :P

X'mas @ Studio M with the Cousins

Ok, I guess I'm the last one out of the whole bunch to blog about X'mas last year. LOL.
But hey, I got my reasons, first my laptop crashed. I'm using my dad's lappy now. Which does not have Photoshop nor premiere pro or anything that I am used to on my laptop. So I need time to adapt and install my programs. :P Plus I don't have all the photos taken that day.

Anyways, I don't intend to use the photos in this post either, cause you have already seen all the same photos on everyone's post. Cause only 2 people took photos which is Andy and Jinglong.

Whereas, I took only videos that day! And I just spend the last 2-3 hours editing it to a 19 min video. The center part which is the gift exchange part might be draggy, but I kept it as it's memories! I mean, photos are good memories but nothing can beat video where each small action and every single word we said are captured.

On Hiatus

It's sad to say but my Acer laptop which had been with me for nearly 4 years finally died on me. >.<
I'm trying to see if I can retrieve the data inside as there are quite a lot of things that I have not had the chance to back up yet. I will also be waiting to get a new laptop, most probably a macbook pro. It's either I get it soon, or I will till the new OS Lion is out before I get it.

Before that, I won't be blogging till I get a chance on my bro's lappy or smth.

F.J's Trip to KL - Everything Else

I actually forgot to bring along my camera charger and hence by day 2, I'm only left with like 1 bar of battery. I have to save for shots that are must take then just randomly take everything. That's why not much photos are taken. >< Lesson learn though, always remember to bring along spare battery or the charger~

I been to Times Square, Sungei Wang on the 2nd day and KLCC on the 3rd day. It's like shop, eat, shop etc. So sparing you the details, the photo spam starts now.

The food here is good. XD

These days, viruses are meant to steal your personal info etc for monetary gains! This is really very scary, especially when we rely very heavily these days on the net for internet banking etc.

During my KL Trip, we stayed at this place called PJ8 where my Aunt's had an apartment there. It's a gorgeous place! I swear staying in this place is the best part of the trip. XD

Hi all!!

I will be flying off to KL later in the afternoon and will only be back on Wednesday~
I won't be able to access the internet or use the data plan on my phone so I will be away for these few days from the virtual world. I won't be blogging, tweeting nor be on FB.

I'm excited as it's my first time to KL! Haha, plus on a plane some more! LOL. I know I a bit mountain tortoise la. Haha. But it's not my first time on a plane la, it's my second time. First time was to Taiwan, how I wish I got the money to go again.

I'm sure you all must be thinking: " Go KL only, what's the big deal!?" But better then nothing ma, and I have only been to JB before, never had the chance to explore other parts of M'sia before this.

With A Pinch Of Salt

Headed to "With A Pinch of Salt" located at Tanjong Katong with some of the "Cousins" last last Saturday (13th Nov) on Jiaqi's friend's recommendation. As you can see from the outside, it's a sweet little cafe which is very colorful! XD

How can I not camwhore with the cute mascot! LOL!

These are like the appetizers! Cheese fries, onion rings, pizza, and I ordered escargots~ XD Oh and also milo dinosaur! XD

Main courses! The Beef Burger's mine! And it's really a big portion, I can't even finish it lor! Then there's the chicken Corden Bleu, Jumbo Chick Leg, Sissy Crab Pasta and the Bacon and Sausage Baked Rice.

We ordered desserts too but I forgot to snap photos of those! But the Choco Lave is awesome and very reasonably priced at $4.90! I would love to go back for more of that!

Enjoying the pizza which is yummy! Haha, I find the food there overall not bad! Worth visiting! XD

My First Nuffnang Cheque!

Can you believe it? I joined NN in July 2008 and it's now Oct 2010 and I just got my very first NN Cheque~ LOL. But it's ok la, cause when I first joined NN, my hits were like super low. I only started having ads in 2009, so it's not bad. Plus it's not $50 dollars only lor, $200 lei, though I know it's super little compared to some bloggers. LOL. But then, I am not very far from my next cash out. :P

AFA X Anime Festival Asia 2010 X Atelier Royale Butler Cafe

Hi all! I went to visit the AFA X (Anime Festival Asia 2010) last Sunday on the 14th November. My friend was the one who asked me to go with her in the first place but in the end she can't make it. But I went ahead since I wanted to visit Atelier Royale and also take a look around as I have never visit AFA before. In the end, I went with Jorimu who's heading there too! Thanks for the accompany girl!

There are quite a number of booths selling Anime figurines and related merchandise.I searched around the whole place for Pinky Street Dolls, and only find 2 booths selling them! One of them selling them at $5 each! It's a steal!! But sadly they only have 3 choices there and I already own one of them which is Rui, so I got the other two. XD There's another booth selling the Evangelion Rei and Asuka for $20 but I never buy. Now I a bit regret sia. (\>.

They sell Shin Chan's favorite chocolate biscuits there! LOL! They totally should have someone cos-playing Shin Chan and sell the biscuits lor!

Many figurines and Nendoroids on display. Seems like the anime K-On is very popular these days. The ones I watched are not that popular though. In fact, I'm more of a Manga fan rather then Anime fan but I still enjoy watching Anime la.
My favorite so far is Full Metal Alchemist! XD Hunter X Hunter also not bad.Not forgetting my all time favorite Anime plus Manga Nana. I like Vampire Knight and Gakuen Alice too! But sadly, I never spot any figurine of characters of those that I know, except for some that I heard but never watch. :P

There's a graffiti wall for people to doodle on at one corner and there are some very nice drawings! There's a lot of talented people out there! Haha, I wonder who will drive that car out! And that guy in the picture above, I seriously wonder how he can walk around with such tiny holes to see through!

How can I not take any photos of myself! LOL! Just love taking self portraits with my Pen. :P

Dolls! They are all so pretty and they are all customized if I'm not wrong. If only I could own one, but they are super expensive!

How can I not take photos of the Cos-players! Spotted a whole group of people cos-playing the characters from FFXIII, I recognized them in one look~ LOL. Or rather they are one of the very few I know. Haha. I did not managed to take a lot cause the crowd of photographers surrounding the cos-players is crazy! All the DSLR there snapping and flashing the flashlights.

Cos-playing seems fun, maybe I would want to try it out one day. :P

We walked around the exhibits for a few rounds and decided to head to somewhere to eat. So we went to this Korean food place at the fountain of wealth area to grab a bite. We visited Atelier Royale in the morning. (More about that later~) I only ate side dishes cause I have plans to visit the cafe again. :P

Jiaqi Woo and Alton came at around 4.30 plus, so I went to meet them after parting with Jorimu who went to meet her friend too. :P We went straight to queue for Atelier Royale just in case we can't get in as the queue is getting long. If they did not come right, I don't think I will go again. Then I won't have so much fun in the end le! Or if I did not meet them to go again, I also won't be there! So me is lucky! :P

Jiaqi and me~ I love her red hair la! And also her courage to try out so many different hair colors! I think I will only stick to playing with different shades of browns lor. >.<

Inside the Atelier Royale Butler Cafe! :P

(Ok, here's a warning. I think I might sound like a total fan girl from here onwards. Please pardon me. I just can't help it. :P)

As I have mentioned, I went twice! Once in the morning and once in the evening, so it's like breakfast and dinner both at the Butler Cafe. LOL.

One of the main reason I went in the morning (I'm rarely awake in the morning :P) is because I saw Yutaki's tweet that some who went on sat queued for 3 hours did not managed to get in! So the Kiasu me decided to wake up early in the morning so as to be able to secure a chance to go into the Cafe. And the queue in the morning is really quite short! Jorimu and I queued for only about 15 to 20 minutes or maybe shorter then it's our turn le! XD

While in the queue I happily took out my Pen thinking to snap many many pictures in the cafe only to notice a no photography sign. Hence I kept my Pen and did not take a single picture while in the cafe. Which I totally regret! Should at least take out my phone and snap the food or something! But I am very guai one, stick to the rules. But there are a lot out there who secretly took pictures lor! But it's ok, I had my fair share of fun too! :P

The Butler Cafe only have 3 set meals, pasta and two types of cakes and all sets comes with either coffee or tea. While the MMK Cafe have an additional OmuRice on their menu I think. I had the Strawberry cake when I went in the morning.

Oh, and I got Yutaki as my butler! XDXDXD
And the service is really not bad, they pull the chair for you, lay the things nicely one by one. For example the tea, they put the plate first, then the cup, then the spoon, then the milk and lastly the sugar. One by one lei! You go outside where got see such things one! Outside is they put everything first then just put the whole thing in front of you. LOL.
You will just feel very pampered in there lor, and the fact that you're being served by good looking butlers is a very big factor! :P And I swear they are super cute at times!

Actually it don't really matter who you got as butler, as the rest will still come forth and ask if you need anything or clear the plates when they see it empty. So depending on your luck, you might get all of then to serve you in the end lor. But you only get to take photo with the butler you got assigned to la. The maximum you can take is with 2 butlers. I was told that someone queued 3 times and also paid 3 times, just to take photos with all 5 of the butlers!! The photo will be printed out on the spot for keepsake so it's quite worth it.

My photo with Yutaki is now along with my other photos on my bedside. :P

Then I went again with Jiaqi and Alton in the evening and this time round the queue got quite long! We queued for around 1 and a half hours and nearly never get in! But luckily we got in still la! XD We were the 2nd last group who got in. Also, while queuing at the area where the exit of the cafe is, we managed to catch a glimpse of the butlers when customers are leaving and there's one time where Yutaki opened the door and said Hi to us! Haha! Damn cute! There's also another instance where Haru got out for his break but got called back in by Yutaki as I think they still must stay inside the cafe during breaktime. We heard their conversation which is quite funny la! Hee!

Anyways, we were lucky to get in but there's only pasta left so we all get the pasta set which was $28. The cake set was $18. You can guess how much I spent on the Cafe alone.Oh and photo taking was $5. So I spent a grand total of $51 at the Cafe on that day. But I seriously think it's totally worth it! :P

Anyways, some of the butlers and the MMK maids went over to watch the I love Anisong concert while Jiaqi and me stayed to kind of hang out with Yutaki and Jin. We just sat at the cafe and chit chat. XDXDXD (Seriously, I think someone or a bunch of girls out there is going to kill me liao.)

We also managed to visit the backstage of the concert and guess who I saw!!

Yes! It's Kaname!! I can die in peace now! LOL! Must thank Jiaqi for helping me take this photo, cause I kept my camera as the backstage was dark and I don't have a flash for my Pen yet! There was Aira and Alodia (celebrity cos-players) there too but I never take photo with them. Kind of regret now. But it's ok la, at least I got to see them. :P

This was like the best day of my life in November 2010 la! Must really thank Yutaki for the chance to just stay behind and hang out around. XD Arigatou Gozaimasu!

The Four of Us.

8 years and counting, that's how long we have known each other. More then friends, BFFs ain't enough to describe our relationship. We are already like family, we are like sisters.
All of us, so different, yet we know each other so well. Out of the 8 years, we are only together for 4 years, the good old secondary days. We went off to our separate paths and we seldom meet up. Still, the relationship was never affected.

We all know that no matter how different our lives are right now, the new friends that we have, we will always be part of each others lives.

It's only with you guys, that I can feel totally at ease. It's only you guys that can put up with the unreasonable me that I am. I guess NP really played a big part, the shitty stuff that we gone through together, the happy things and everything. It's like we've been through life and death. It's with you guys that I can never really quarrel with, I mean the most we argue, over the stupidest things.

Happy times together, at the playground we used to hang out before NP training starts. Where we had our share of childish scribblings. :P Where we hang out talking about our dreams, gossiping about people. This was our playground.

Yes, there's four of us. But it's so hard for the four of us to meet up! It's always 三缺一! The number of times that the four of us really meet up is so little!!! But I know it can't be blame, me working, them being in 3 different Unis, hence we all have different schedules.

Now at 20, we might have changed from the 13-16 us. But we all know deep down, we are still the very same. Of course, things that we have gone through had change the way we think.

HL who used to say she will be a nun was the first to have a BF and is still going strong. We are all happy for her, for finding that someone.Me and her, not only 8 years. Actually I am not so sure, shall we start counting from pri 1 or pri 5 when we were in the same class. We been through quite a lot, and you freaking made me cry in sec 1 though I know it was for my own good. Glad that we stuck together till now. My twin, please think more for yourself, your future, what you want to do! You know what I mean.

BY dear, I know you have been through a lot. But I am very sure you know that we will always be here. Always here, never move away. Although sometimes I wish I could be there physically when you need me. You'll find that someone that will love you the way you want it eventually. I mean we're only 20, there are always many wrong ones before we get the right one. Promise me, to let the cheerful BY that we all know and love come back, no matter how long it takes! Anything, I'm just a phone call away.

Siew Boon, I demand you to faster go find that someone! Haha! Don't give yourself too much stress over studies and projects. Give yourself some breathing time! The cheerful and happy go lucky Siew Boon, please continue to stay this way. I am glad that so far, you're ok except for the stress over studies. But you can do it! I want to attend your graduation like you attended mine ok? XD

And of course, all 3 of you. I want to see all of you graduate with the 四方帽! Something that is quite far from my reach, although I know I will get it one day. But the uni life that I will never experience, you guys are in it now! Live a happy uni life; I know it's stressful, but don't let it bring you down!

Granado Espada Renaissance Ball

Was invited to the Granado Espada Renaissance Ball, where they will be launching version 5 of the popular MMORPG, titled "Renaissance" last Wednesday at The Lawn at Raffles Hotel.

At the very same time, IAHGames also held a charity auction of exclusive in game items where the profits will go fully to the Habitat for Humanity Singapore, a non-profit housing organization with a mission to eliminate poverty housing worldwide.

The event was held at The Lawn at Raffles Hotel.

There were two beautiful ladies cos-playing as in game characters taking photos with all the guests that day.

Headed down to Lower Seletar Reservoir Park about 2 weeks ago for some casual shooting with my Pen. XD

There were still decorations left from the Mid-Autumn Festival when we went there. Hence you can see lanterns around.

I am glad that I finally found time to visit this place which is of walking distance from my house. It's a nice place for shoots and good place to slack!

Movie Review: Charlie St. Cloud

Be warn! Spoilers ahead!!

Based on the Novel "The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud" by Ben Sherwood, Charlie St. Cloud is the film adaption version with slight difference from the novel.

In the movie, Charlie survived a car crash in which his younger brother, Sam passed away. He blames himself for surviving and when he realized that he could see Sam's ghost, he decided to give up his scholarship, his dream to sail and stayed on as a promise to his brother. Everyday at sunset, they will meet in the woods to practice Baseball which Sam loves.

5 years passed and Charlie has since became the caretaker of the town's cemetery. Other then Sam, he could see others too. People in town all thought his mind went wrong when Sam died.

Then appeared Tess Carroll, high schoolmate of Charlie and she's also a Sailor, one who's ready to join a race to sail the world. Charlie was attracted to her and so was she.

Charlie found her sleeping on her father's tomb in the cemetery one day and saw that she injured her head. He offered to clean it up for her and later they went on a date. Because of this, Charlie was late for Sam and Tess followed after him into the woods. At that point, he chose Sam.

Charlie later realized that Tess was actually missing for 3 days out on the sea where there was a storm. He realized that he had been talking to Tess's ghost! At first he thought that she was dead but a note she wrote during "their date" tells him that she's still alive out there, somewhere!

Now, Charlie has to chose.

The woman he loved and still is alive somewhere out there, or...

The brother he doted on and loved so much but has since passed away for 5 years?

Who will he chose? This you have to find out yourself for I have given away too much details already. :P

I find this movie quite heartwarming and there's a meaning behind it. Choosing between 2 person that you loved so much is really tough even though one is dead and the other alive. It does not helps when you survived from the accident that your loved one died from. As the movie poster said, Life is for living. Since we are still living, we should treasure those whom are still around us and put those that had passed on in our hearts.

Of course, Zac Efron being the main lead is a big plus point to the movie. I'm totally in love with his eyes, it's just beautiful! ;p

Overall, I rate this movie a 3.5/5.

Anyways, Andy had been wanting to try out Let's Sweet Japanese Buffet & Sweets over at Bugis Junction. So a few of us decided to join him for the buffet on Saturday.

It's more like a pastry buffet, but there's pasta and curry rice! XD

As I have mentioned, we only have a total of an hour to get our food and finish it. So it's quite rush and also fun at the same time! LOL. We went for the Lunch buffet hence it cost $16.80+++, which amount up to roughly $19 per person.

Of course we ate more then what is pictured as we do not really bother about taking pictures due to the time limit. LOL.

The Dinner Buffet is priced at $19.80++ and instead of an hour, it's 80 minutes. If I'm not wrong, there's a main course served during the Dinner Buffet.

I would say the food there is not bad, some are nice while some are just ok. Some of them we are just not used to the taste.

I think the buffet is quite ok, if you are someone who can eat a lot in a short time, this might be more worthwhile for you. XD

Underwater World Singapore

Underwater World Singapore! I have never step into that place before till I finally did during the Singapore City Pass Launch. I was super excited!

Singapore City Pass

Along with the other G+ members, I attended the media launch of the Singapore City Pass on 31 Aug, Tuesday morning.

Tourist & Transit Hub over at Singapore Flyer. This was our meeting point and also where we registered and got our SmarTap Tag. This is where you can purchase your very own Singapore City Pass too!

We were VIPS! XD

The Singapore City Pass, it's really small and cute. Just like a postage stamp! It can be used as a fridge magnet after using it or a phone sticker!

This is the SmarTap Tags which is also the Singapore City Pass. It uses the RDIF technology which enables the card to be loaded with admissions to attractions, meal vouchers, gift vouchers, concert events etc. You might wonder why do we need to get this card when you can just buy the tickets to individual attractions etc. The answer is, you can save up to 45% when you get this card! You also save the time you have to queue and purchase the tickets!

Using the day's event as an example, I am going to tell you roughly how this card works!

This pass can be purchase online or at the Tourist Transit Hub where you will select the attractions available you want to visit etc.

On that day, we were to board the Funvee bus all the way to Sentosa to Underwater World. Therefore, the cards are programmed to allow us admission to both the Funvee and Underwater World.

Here's the Funvee bus~

Normally we would need to purchase the ticket on the bus or buy them beforehand. But with the Singapore City Pass, we just need to tap when we board the bus!

We just have to simply tap our SmarTap Tag~

Then it will be processed and there will be records on the card that we have used the Funvee Bus Ride.

Now, onboard the Funvee Bus. We sat at the open roof area although it's quite sunny! But the wind was strong when the bus started moving so it's quite ok! XD

With the Singapore City Pass, we just have to tap at the ticketing counters and head in! No need to buy tickets! Save time!! XD

And we're headed to the Dolphin Lagoon!
I was super excited as it was first time I step foot into Underwater World, and I am going to see the PINK DOLPHINS!

We get to enjoy a Dolphin show in the comfort of the suite! I love the dolphins!

Then we had a speech by Mr Ang Eu Khoon, Managing Director of City Tours.

I scored a photo with the dolphins, spot them in the corner! LOL!!

So, have you got a rough idea how the Singapore City Pass works now? It's actually very simple!
You just have to choose the package you want when you purchase the pass either online or at the Tourist Hubs. Then you just have to tap the card at the various locations to gain admissions etc.

I personally felt that this is an awesome gift for our overseas friends! We just have to buy them a card loaded with places that they would love to visit and let them hop on a trip of fun without having to waste precious time over buying tickets and queuing etc. Imagine needing to visit like 5 places and having to buy the tickets 5 times. Those precious time can be spent on the attractions itself!

Even for us Singaporeans, I felt that we could also get ourselves one of these and go on a trip to certain attractions that we have never been too or never felt the need to.

Movie: Vampire Suck

I am sure many of you love watching comedies, or even spoofs of popular titles. Vampires Suck is both a comedy and spoof of twilight produced by JASON FRIEDBERG & AARON SELTZER. Twilight fans might hate it and anti fans might love it.

I myself am a fan of the books and can’t wait to see how this comedy spoof of the series will turn out. I have watched the trailer and am widely amused. I believe it’s quite a good show for laughter, just don’t take it too seriously and I am sure people will actually enjoy the show.

From the trailer, I see that the movie includes the fan girls of Edward and Jacob. I think it’s quite smart to add in the fan girls as it’s a very amusing thing to see the fan girls fight it.

I would love to catch this movie soon and tell you all how I find it.

Kotex 'WOW' Party @ Heaven's Loft

The event was held at Heaven's Loft at Orchard Central. It's quite a nice place with both an outdoor area and indoor area.

On Board the Coke Bus for the YOG Torch Relay

Thanks to Coca Cola and Hp, I got the chance to be part of the torch relay by being on board the coke bus along side with all the other motivators to support the torch bearers!

This was taken at the YOG HQ when the torch bearers from the morning league return and lit that stand. I assure you I was standing quite far but still felt the heat.

The torch bearer who return to the HQ was Loh Wei Jie, the little boy who ran 15 km in flip flops! His schoolmates were there to support him. No photos of him though, din managed to get a clear shot.

Previously when the torch relay passed by the area near my house, I was just standing by the road looking up at the whole procession. It was a totally different feeling when I was onboard the bus, being part of the whole thing.
My heart warmed up when I saw the public waved back at us and giving us support. It's not an easy thing at all, cheering and waving and all. Most of us were tired halfway through the journey.
I am glad to be able to be on the coke bus on that day. I am proud to have a little part in the very first YOG held in Singapore though it's not really significant.

Thy Pen Log: Test Shots

As some of you would know, I have been wanting to get a new camera which can produce good photos but I dun want to get a DSLR as it is too bulky. And research have let me learn about Micro Four Thirds system. Good quality photos in a compact body. Choice of interchangeable lens like a DSLR.

So I researched more and found out about the Olympus Pen Series and the Panasonic Lumix G series. I was actually stuck between the two as Lumix has came out with the G2 which have quite a lot of features like swivel screen and touch screen focus etc. But Olympus have better Jpeg quality compared to the Panasonic. Also, it has different Art Filters to play with.

In the end, I decided to go with my decision of getting the Olympus Pen EP-2 with the Pancake Lens(17mm) and also the standard 14-42mm Kit Lens.

Here's some test shots that I got while playing with my new toy for the first time. I need time to get used to the system so that I can get more awesome shots. :P

Movie Review: The Last Airbender

Thanks to Omy.sg, I got the chance to attend the movie premiere of The Last Airbender before it's out.

I brought one of my girls with me for the movie.(Her nick is PIG! :P)

Ok, now on to the review. XD

Many of you might not know the fact that this movie is based on an animation series, Avatar: The Last Airbender. In fact, I watched 1 or 2 episodes of the animation on OKTO before.The animation consisted of 3 seasons.

*Spoilers Ahead*

The Last Airbender is the first of a trilogy. Similar to the animation, the first was Book One: Water.
The Avatar has the ability to bend all four elements, born as an Airbender, he needs to learn the 3 other elements so that he is able to fight against the Fire Nation Lord. Water comes after Air and Earth comes after Water with Fire being the last.

In this first movie, we see how Aang(the Airbender/Avatar) accepts his destiny as the Avatar and along with his friends from the Water Tribe tries to fought against the Fire Nation who had the motive of eliminating all other nations/elements conquer the world while searching for Masters to teach Aang to bend the 3 other elements.
Aang traveled along with Katara and Sokka to the Northern Water Tribe to find a Master Waterbender to teach Aang how to bend water. On their way, they have to avoid Zuko, the exile Prince of the Fire Nation who is only allowed to return if only he caught the Avatar. The Trio also have to avoid Commander Zhao from the Fire Nation who has evil intentions to destroy the Northern Water Tribe while capturing the Avatar.

The Last Airbender is a fantasy movie with not so fantastic effects. However, I felt that it requires no fancy effects as the elements portrayed in the show are the basics of everything. Hence there is no need for fancy effects for the elements. There's also some humor in the movie for us to take a breather from all the actions. Somehow the bending of elements reminds me of Tai-Ji, when research tells me that the bending of elements is based on different Kungfus. With waterbending based on Tai-Ji. I am sure you will get what I meant when you watch the movie yourselves. XD

As for the story, it's like all adventure stories where there will be a main hero who will be there to save the day. And also the evil people trying to destroy everyone else, putting themselves superior to others. You can't expect much out of something that is based on an animation which is targeted at teenagers.

In my opinion, I find that The Last Airbender is quite a good show as there are twists and turns and I felt that there is no boring moments. Just don't expect too much when you watch it and you will definitely enjoy the show.
I felt that the reason why many give it a low rating as they expect too much as the animation the show was based on was very popular and even won awards.

I rate this show a 3.5/5. XD

I will be looking forward to the other 2 parts of the movie. XD

New Layout plus mini update

Hey all!

I am sure you guys noticed I have changed my layout! XD

I love my previous layout but what's missing was that personal touch. Been wanting to change it but was lazy and my head goes dizzy whenever I look at those codes.

So I tweeted about it and Jorimu/Jocelyn offered to help me with a new layout.

And ta-dah~

A brand new look for my beloved blog! XD

But it's not hundred percent done yet, I'm thinking to change the background but haven had any inspiration yet. But recently had an inspiration from the art gallery next to my workplace. The artist wrote the name of the theme all over the wall as a background for his art pieces. At first I thought it was like nothing much, but when it's all done up, it looks quite good and yet so simple!

But being the lazy me, I haven found the time to open up photoshop to create a background from scratch. So there will be sometime before I decided not to be lazy and go create the new background. XD

Am also sorry for the lack of updates! Been busy working every night except for wed and sun to earn $$ for a new camera and a macbook pro. Who knows, maybe the next update will be on my new camera! XD

Took the chance to meet up with Jess when she's in SG for a tattoo few weeks back.

We headed to Fika, a Swedish Bistro & Cafe located at Beach Road. June and me went there before previously for an event. Both of us like the swedish meatballs there a lot! The atmosphere there is very nice too!

I had an organic tea that day, Black Forest Berry flavor. XD

Olympus Pen Roadshow

Went down to the Olympus Pen Roadshow a few Saturdays ago along with Claire to check out the camera and also give our support to Valerie who's involved in the Olympus Video Blogging contest.

Here's a photo of me taken with my own camera, added filter using editing software.

All these steps you can skip if you have an Olympus Pen. It has art filters, E-portrait which auto remove the blemishes and smooth out your complexion. I was totally wow-ed by all these function when Valerie showed it to both Claire and me on her EP1.

Look at these vintage looking cameras in their pretty leather casing sold separately.

And this is while Valerie is explaining the features of the camera to a potential customer. XD

This is the EPL1 with the built in flash. It looks awesome in that black leather casing with red thread outline.

The Olympus Pen series is quite awesome. Photos quality are quite great, comparable to DSLR standards depending on the user. :P Do note that the PEN is not a DSLR but instead is a Micro Four Third, which is a different system from the DSLR. It does not have the mirror which the DSLR has and hence is a lot smaller in size. The lack of mirror also means that it does not have a viewfinder. For the PEN, you could buy an external Electronic Viewfinder if you really need one. XD

If you're wondering why I know so much, cause I have been doing research on Micro 4/3 systems as I'm thinking to upgrade to one.

Shine Youth Festival Launch

Remember my post on the SHINE Bloggers' Party?

On 3rd July, I headed down to SCAPE just beside cinneleisure for the launch of the Youth Festival 2010 along with some other bloggers. The party started at 12pm and lasted all the way till 12am! But of course I did not stay till the end, as I have work at night. However, I had my share of fun when I was there.

As I have mentioned, the tag line for the Youth Fest this year is Enough Talk, Just Do! So I shall let the photos do the job! :P

Attended the SHINE Bloggers' Party with the rest of the G+ members with Raine and Elise~ XD The main point of the party is to introduce to us what SHINE is all about and we also got to hear about the whole series of event lined up for the SHINE Youth Festival.

Virgin Ice Skating Trip

Andy tweeted one day that he felt like going ice skating and I replied asking him to organize one. Who knows, the very next morning he sms to ask about it. Wah, talk about efficiency. LOL. Since I never tried ice skating before, I immediately agree. As it was quite a last minute thing, only a few of us are able to make it, but still we had fun! XD

It was a day filled with fun, laughter and pain from the falling down. We even sweat though it's freezing at the rink! Ice skating is kind of tiring too! LOL! Hopefully we can go ice skating again with more members of "Cousins"!! XD

Photoshoot at National Museum

About 1 month ago, I joined JingLong and Andy on a mini photo shoot trip. Our original plan was to head to the railway around Yew Tee area but it rained so we switched to Haji Lane which was also raining. LOL.

Then we remembered that the National Museum was quite a nice place too when we visited it for an event last time. Hence, we headed there for the shoot. XD

Live It Up Without Lighting Up 2010

I have participated in the Great Audio Experience held on 29th May to celebrate World No Tobacco Day. My starting point was at The Heerens and is dressed in blue! Other starting points includes SMU Green and Orchard Central. People who started their were either dressed in red or orange.

Participants in blue and the ushers are in orange. We are all tuning to 98.7FM to prepare for the start of the event. XD

We were given "Itouch" which is actually a FM Radio for the event. It even comes with a built in speaker. Super cool! Haha. XD

Moving on to our second location after following our first set of instructions. Sadly, I din get to really follow it since I was busy scanning for the station on the FM Radio. LOL.

Reached our 2nd location and we were all warmed up and prepared for the 2nd set of instructions. Guys and Girls have to be in 2 lines and do a separate set of actions. XD
We attracted quite a bit of attention here and onlookers decided to join us too! XD

By the time we reached our 3rd location, I am already sweating buckets. Saw that drop of sweat of my forehead? Haha.

We were quite enthu by this time already but too bad there ain't much crowd for us to attract attention from. LOL.

Our final location at Plaza Singapura! Host Daniel Ong was there to welcome us. XD You can see the other people in red and orange too. It's quite fun to see 3 different troupes of people flooding into one place at one go.

The event made it into the Singapore Book of Records! For being the first audio mass walk in Singapore i think. :P

A whole series of performance were lined up for the public and all participants. Above photo shows a great performance by two Frenchmen.They were quite handy with the balls. :P

Pixar Exhibition @ Science Center

Finding Nemo, Monsters Inc, The Incredibles, UP, Cars. Theses are all animation films produced by Pixar. There are still many other animation titles produced by Pixar.

Finding Nemo happens to be my all time favorite animation. And do you know that this particular animation took 3 whole years to produce?

Ain't you interested in how the animation looked like at the very first stages?

Thanks to Omy.sg and the Science Center, I got the chance to visit the Pixar Exhibition held at the Science Center on Thursday.

In the exhibition, we got to see the many sketches of the animation's characters at it's early stages. Not forgetting sculptures which are used in animating the characters.

Other than all the great art works of the animations, there are two main attractions of this exhibit which are the Artscape and the Zoetrope.

I quite enjoy myself at the exhibition, looking at parts of the storyboards of the animation that I loved. And of course, I'm a media student and hence I have a different perspective on the exhibit. Why do I say that? Well, I would say that this exhibition is like an art exhibit as quoted by the organizers. You will not see life sized figures of the various characters at the exhibit. But in a way, you can see how the story was created.

In my opinion, I think that this exhibit is more for Pixar lovers and also people who love art or those interested in animation. XD

I was a graduand and now a graduate.

It took me three years to be on that stage to receive that certificate from the Director of SBM.

It took me three years to earn this certificate with my name on it.

And then, it marks the very end to my three years of poly life.

I am now officially a Diploma holder.

Three years, it don't only earn me this certificate but also long lasting friendships with my fellow classmates.

Movie Review: Robin Hood

Thanks to OMY.sg, I had the chance to watch the movie, Robin Hood before it's official release.

This movie talks about the period of time before Robin Hood became an outlaw. It's like a prelude to his adventures as an outlaw who robbed the rich and aid the poor along with his merry men.

Robin Longstride was his name and he's the son of a visionary. He was an arch-man under the service of King Richard the Lion Heart in his Crusade in France. Robin fled with a couple of mates when the king died in battle. He happens to found the knights protecting the king's crown after an ambush and they took over their identity as knights and sent the crown back to England. He also received a sword from a dying knight with a last wish to send the sword back to his father.

There's words engraved on the sword which ticks off Robin's memory of the past and he made a decision to fulfill the wish of the dead knight after returning the crown. King John, the brother of Richard took over the throne.

Off to Nottingham with his mates where Robin met Marian, the widow of the dead knight and was attracted to her. He return the sword to Sir Walter, father of the dead knight and was told to stay and take over the place of his dead son by Sir Walter. In return, he will tell Robin about his roots.

Before I go off typing out the whole story, I shall stop here.

From where I stopped, the movie continues in telling the story of how Robin helped the poor villagers of Nottingham by becoming the men in 'hoods' and how he remembered his father. Followed by how he went to war against the France who was invading England with the help of a spy, whom was King John's childhood friend.

The scenes of the war near the end was remarkable! I adore the cinematography! It was really awesome. Although they were scenes of war, blood and violent, I really must say it was very very well done. The cinematography was really a joy to watch.

To me, this movie is really well done. However, it's also a movie that not all will appreciate. Some might find the front part a tad draggy. But to those interested in the medieval times and legends of such like me, you will really enjoy this movie.

To me, every minute of the whole 2 hours 20 over minutes was good. Not a minute was boring!

I rate this movie a 4.5 over 5! (There's always room for improvement! XD)

Robin Hood will be officially release in the theaters on the 13th of May.

That on my birthday, I can actually see fireworks from USS! XD So lucky right? =)

Am really thankful to all of you who spent this day with me. I really enjoyed it. Thanks for the cake surprise when you all said that there's no cake and present but you guys will have dinner with me.(Dutch!LOL)

I am really touched when the guys appeared with the cake when you said you guys are heading to the toilet.(Which I actually suspected, but still I am really touched!)

Thanks guys! I've enjoyed myself.

The only bad thing is, I have hit the big '2' and is now officially 20. LOL! =P

Orange Clove Blogger's Night

Thanks to Andy, I got the chance to attend the Orange Clove Blogger's Night at Botanical Gardens on the 16th April. The main point of the event is to let us blogger's experiece the catering service provided by Orange Clove.

This is Andy, busy checking photos after taking.

When we reached the area, we will each given a goodie bag each which includes a small pack of macaroons inside. The decorations of the venue is very elaborated and elegant. Flowers, candles and (plastic)crystals are used. The lighting goes well with the whole feel but it's really bad for photo taking. We all had difficulty taking photos that day due to the lighting. :P

Yummy Desserts!

I love the cheesecakes! Especially the blueberry one. There's also cupcake which tastes good and according to the staff at Orange Clove, they could customize the icing on top of the cupcakes. The one shown is the logo of Orange Clove. We also had strawberry tarts, mango pudding and lemon merguine.

Here's what I have on my plate after first round of food. Totally forgot to take photos of the main courses as the buffet area is crowded with people.Ok, actually I did not bother, was busy eating as I am hungry. LOL! :P The one with the prawn is actually one of the canapes.

This is my favorite dish of the day!

It's the Pan-Fried Snapper with Miso Butter Sauce.

I arranged this myself, nice right? XD

We also had a mini wine tasting session. A white and a red and if i am not wrong, both are Spanish wine. I personally like the white better, it had a nice fruity taste when paired up with white meat like fish. The red is ok, but I find it a little dry to my liking.

They had a small lucky draw session where they were giving out 6 bottles of sparkling wine, Romina Lychee. And I do not expect myself to win a bottle at all! XD No photos of the wine as I totally forgot to. :P

每年的这个时段。。。

其实，每年到了这个时段，我是又期待却又希望这一天不要来临。

因为自己的生日快到了。

我会期待着今年会是怎么度过。会收到几个祝福的信息。

可是，我却也不希望这一天。因为是我存在于这个世界的日子。

我并不喜欢这个世界。或者我应该说我的家吧。

家人不会帮我过生日。

小时候会至少有个蛋糕。

就坐在我现在打字的位置，看着自己的蛋糕，自己唱着生日歌。自己许愿。过程不超过而是分钟。当那时候的我，却已经很满足。因为还小吧，所以就算是自己唱着歌，自己吹蜡烛，自己切蛋糕，至少脸上是带着笑容的。

随着年纪的增长，慢慢懂事了。

希望的也更多。

可是那个蛋糕，不再是理所当然的。

我必须去要求，就算不过生日，那个蛋糕不能少。

18岁时，我至少还能要求要请朋友在家里和我一起吃着火锅庆祝。就因为是18岁，还有一定意义的年龄。

19岁，就这样默默的度过。因为是实习时期，大家都忙。至于家里，两个小小的蛋糕就这样充数。没有血缘关系的外人，还比自己的母亲有心。买了个大大的巧克力蛋糕给我。

记得去年8月，朋友举行烧烤会来庆祝自己的生日，可是因为预算问题，没有人买蛋糕。我明白在生日时，一个蛋糕是多么的重要。所以就二话不说的去买了一个蛋糕。过生日，怎么可以少了蛋糕呢。

其实我并不奢望。因为哥哥们也是这样。他们自从21岁生日，热热闹闹的庆祝后，就没有在家里过生日了。生日时，他们都是与朋友度过。

今天已经是22号了。再过7天，就是我的20岁生日。虽然说并没有21岁那么的重要。也毕竟是我踏入‘2’头的年龄。

不过我想今年的蛋糕，我应该会自己去买吧。因为我不想再去要求了，我不要像乞丐似的，去乞求一个生日蛋糕。

我不需要奢华的生日会。

我要的只是一个蛋糕，还有朋友们的祝语，有人唱生日歌给我听。不需要有贵重的礼物，有心意就行了。就那么的简单。

每个人的生日都意味着每个人的存在。每一天都有个新生命诞生，而那一天就是他们存在的证明。

我好想找回5岁时的那个笑容。可惜，已经不可能了。因为没有了天真和单纯，现在只有复杂的思绪，和因经历而成熟的思想。

我想找那个发自内心的笑容。。。可能吗？
